What our young people say about the service

s

In St Helens, the Voice of our children and young people is really important to us.

We have a very active ‘Children in Care Council’ and a plan to capture and respond to the wishes and feelings of all children and young people we work with.

What young people are saying ...

“Be honest and explain things”

“A good social worker should be happy and support you”

“A good social worker listens to you and turns up on time”

“Carers understand more. You are safe”

“Keep promises”

“Don’t take me out of school to see me”

"Get to know us”

  • We have young people as part of our interview panel
  • We have recruited a number of Young Advisers who will make a genuine contribution to the review and development of services across the council
  • We have Voice of the Child and Social Worker Champions across our Social Work Teams
